Running on abolishing the filibuster in the Senate is a losing proposition in an already difficult landscape to take over the Senate. Gotta tamper down your expectations. Sorry, but that’s reality.

And when they don’t follow through, or do and vote it down, they play right into Democrats hands just in time for the mid-terms. Then Dems can fully blame the entire mess on them. Don’t be so short sighted.
