Finally slept through the night for 8 hours, woke up with beautiful skies, no humidity and a breeze. Breeze. So this is my current internal compass speaking to me and now I'm ready to take on the patriarchy, fascism, xenophobics, transphobics and racist again. Here I come.

I find it shocking that we are shocked by what is happening in this country right now, but I am bearing witness to the truth of who we are and who we have always been. Except for a few years, America has been a country for rich, conservative, Christian, heterosexual, white men. It's a return.

I am facilitating a healing retreat this weekend for 13 survivors of violent crime. Sexual assault survivors and the families of murdered loved ones. The hard work is learning not to run from our pain, grief and wounds, and also find room for those moments of inexplicable joy and delight.

This is 100% me. And it goes for family too. You voted with your feet in 2016, you showed me again who you were in 2020 and in 2024. That was the end of the line for me. You can call it boundaries but I for damn sure need you to stay way away from me.
