If there's one empirical insight I'd want everyone to understand about American politics, it's this:

America's problems are solved problems. Just not here.

What would change if the US simply matched the average of 31 peer democracies? Not Denmark or Norway. Just the middle of the pack. 🧵

I get that the news cycle is packed right now, but I just heard from a colleague at the Smithsonian that this is fully a GIANT SQUID BEING EATEN BY A SPERM WHALE and it’s possibly the first ever confirmed video according to a friend at NOAA

But thanks to AD Cassie Murphy, I did. ❤️

This is the absolute truth. Too many electeds now consider their political careers first, and their constituents last. You're there to create legislation & work to govern the nation, not fold to bullies. If it's that easy to give away your Constitutional powers, you don't belong there.
Goldman: "Think about whether any of us want to vote a certain way but bc we fear for our personal safety, we decide to vote differently. We are no longer representing our constituents. We are representing something else more like the bully threatening us. That is more like Vladimir Putin operates"

It's the clapping and cheering that disturbs me the most
During a GOP town hall at Coeur d'Alene High School, Teresa Borrenpohl called out, “Is this a lecture or a town hall?” Witnesses said three unidentified men, who were not wearing badges or ID, then physically removed from her seat by order of the Idaho county sheriff.

The root that tears apart your foundation begins as a seed of distrust, hate, and blame.

The seed that grew into a dictatorship in Europe didn’t arrive overnight.

It started with everyday Germans mad about inflation and looking for someone to blame.

It's time for Americans to learn from more than just American history. Stay informed and do not look away.

"I was just following orders" and "I was deceived" will not save you later.
It took the Nazis one month, three weeks, two days, eight hours, and 40 minutes to dismantle a constitutional republic.

When the fire starts to burn, every good person better be ready to man a post with a bucket of water if you want to stop it from raging out of control.

On Tyranny #1 - Do not obey in advance.
February 19, 2025 at 7:02 PM
On Tyranny offers 20 things the Dems should be doing today. The Party of Musk has shown how to be a disruptive minority since 2008.

There's so many things elected Dems *could* do and they *choose* to do nothing.
There’s a certain enraging doomer quality to the “there’s nothing the Democrats can do” posts and attitudes
