I had to take PTO for my cat, tbf my boss was lovely and had no problem with me taking the day off, but yes I agree, they're a close member of the family and should be treated as such.

Yesterday morning she jumped into the toaster cupboard during breakfast, we were searching the house looking for her. Angry meows led us to her hiding place, then she jumped out as if nothing had happened.
