I'm just out of all fucks for these weaklings. And I'm your classic Democratic stalwart voter, poll worker, door knocker, small donor, kinda centrist, pragmatic, boomer, open to persuasion... but for fuck's sake!!! They make me want to vomit!

Yeah, that's not who he was. Always was an arrogant opportunistic poseur. Before his stroke and after. He ran a con on young, but well-meaning progressives.

Unfortunately my Dem senator, Fetterman, is already a Trump-complicit asshole.

GOP could do that by breaking the filibuster.

GOP could do that by breaking the filibuster.
This would be a really interesting twist. Hard to predict all the downstream consequences, but in the broadest sense it is time for it to go. The Senate is already so unrepresentative, to weight it even more so with the filibuster, which serves mostly Republican interests, is just abuse of voters.

How can they make a deal when Republicans refuse to deal at all? How do I get my GOP congressman (Lloyd Smucker, PA 11) to go back to work? He's being barraged by constituents to do so, he's ignoring them all. My D senator (Fetterman) agrees w/Trump to break the filibuster, GOP senate won't do it.

Yeah, it's really hard to see how even the most cynical elected Republicans are imagining a strategic long game here. They must have some vision of how this benefits them, but what the hell is it? I mean, even if Dems fold and gov't reopens, the GOP still has all these major crises on their hands.

even when it's not required because they always vote at this same precinct. Mostly I think they do it because it makes it easier for me to find their name in the poll book, rather than spell it out for me, but seriously so few people w/o ID even bother to vote, Trump won't get much from that turnip.

I'm no supporter of stricter ID laws for voters, but as a poll worker in an urban, majority minority, working class precinct, I think Trump is high on his own supply to think such laws would influence the outcome of an election. Can't tell you how many voters automatically hand me their ID... 1/2

Apart from any medical/sexual/social/physiological/psychological/cultural/genetic... whatever criteria, I cannot fathom why anybody should care what anybody else puts on their passport for gender. Why is there even a field for gender at this point? It's completely meaningless and without purpose.

We didn't have a choice in the general election. We blew it in the primary. Both Lamb and Kenyatta were far superior.

I'm a PA dem. This guy was always a terrible candidate. Even before the stroke, he was an inarticulate, arrogant showboater. People projected a persona on this guy that was untrue and unearned. Let's do better next time, PA voters, and elect a team player, not a thuggish hot dog with a vibe.

Remember when conservatives had burn parties of Dixie Chick albums? Not because they criticized George W and the Iraq war, but because they did it "on foreign soil"? Where is all the patriotic self-righteousness now?

I lean the opposite way. I think "antifa" loses its bogeyman power if it's appropriated by all of us. It has the potential for a Spartacus effect. I'm into just owning it, proudly.

I always show up, my check from Soros never does. What gives? Is there a website where a person registers or something?

I just ordered my ANTIFA t-shirt. It will arrive in time for the Oct. 18 No Kings protest. I'll be the old woman with grey hair, clearly a terrorist. And even after that, I'll just wear it everywhere. What if half the country just walked around identifying as Antifa. It would be so cool.
