Stories like this are absolutely infuriating.

SF has thousands of high net values individuals who could afford to buy the club outright, donate the space to the nonprofit, and bankroll an entire generation of experimental drag performance, without feeling the financial hit at all.

Ok so interestingly/similarly, the last piece of theatre I worked on had a moment where the lighting designer needed to evoke playing Mario within a single vertical LED strip, and the color scheme she used (very successfully) orange, green, and blue. Was shockingly evocative.

And then there’s this movie which is utterly insane

When I was in London last year I went to a cello shop to try out some instruments. The shopkeeper said he just got a very special piece in, pulled out the cello Jackie used before she got her strad(!!!). Let me play on it all afternoon. Shaking just thinking about it.
