Well, when most the ppl voting for republikkkans live in the one big city (Anchorage) & most of us in rural AK get screwed. The town I live in is VERY blue. But why should I bother defending Alaskans? Just like why should I bother defending Amerikkka?

It would be amazing if they could be returned to the tribes, but the tribes have to fight for sustenance rights frequently & all the cruise ships that come up (& commercial fishing) have destroyed a lot of the ecosystem. Mainly the cruise ships, but many places have been over-fished. 😕

Well, they were/are protected...for now, as it sounds like the national forest lands were pulled from the Big Shitty Bill. But the BLM lands are still up for sale, & there's a good chunk of those around us, too. 🥺

I live at the northernmost point of southeast Alaska, in Skagway. The very end of the Tongass.

The Tongass Natonal Forest is 17 million acres of land and is one of the last remaining intact temperate rainforests in the world. Home to bears, eagles & less & less Salmon every year. Many cruise ships sail up the deepest Coldwater fjord in North America every summer.
