I love these transit safety signs I saw in London. Wish I’d snapped pics of more, but I’m sure these are available on the interwebs. But where’s the fun in that?
And BTW, you had better take care because those train doors CLOSE! #TransportForLondon #PublicSafety #GraphicDesign

On our trip to the UK, my son had the idea to walk the White Cliffs of Dover beach path and visit castles along the way. The cliffs and castles did not disappoint! Of course I was really excited about all that chalk! And black flint! And black flint used in ancient buildings! #EarthScienceTeacher

Just got back from a wonderful trip the the UK with my children. Lots of museums, lots of exploring. In Glasgow we went to the #HunterianMuseum where there is a really good natural history collection on display. Including some drawings I did here. #SciArt #PaleoArt

Meganeura Monday update! Veins added to wings. Next steps: legs, antennae, some sparkly beads for fun and decoration. Then assembly. #meganeura #carboniferous #SciArt #PaleoArt #crochet

For a small palate cleanser amid the horrors of this presidency, I bring you my in-process #crochet #meganeura. These giant extinct relatives of dragonflies had wingspans of up to 75 cm! Why so big? Maybe because atmospheric oxygen was ~40% (2x present levels). #PaleoArt #SciArt

Last week we had our pop-up Natural History Museum and students in my Earth Science classes shared their tiny megafauna dioramas (with accompanying signage). #AMNH #PaleoArt #SciArt

Made this #Mammoth mini-diorama as a sample for my Earth Science classes. In this project, students choose an extinct megafauna species and make a wee little diorama in an altoids tin. Must also have at least 1 plant + 1 animal that was also a part of the ecosystem. #PaleoArt #FossilFriday #SciArt

I love a #SolarEclipse, even if it’s just partial (what we will have in NYC on 3/29/25). Here’s a video I shot a few years ago at sunrise at the beach near my home in the Bronx. Video is from June 10, 2021.

I participated in #StandUpForScience today by teaching about 85 teenagers how to identify igneous rocks so they can be also be a part of a scientifically literate society. 🪨🌋 🪨 🌋.

Really wanted to go to a demonstration, but I gotta teach!

This is great! Here is a sign I just made for my classroom. I think I need to use a version of your sign too.

My sister gives them the finger every time she sees one. Also she has a plan for flipping the bird can raise money for progressive causes.

I teach in an alternative HS and (shh!) I didn’t specifically frame it to match standards. But it’s definitely the Obtaining, Evaluating, and Communicating SEP. At my HS we participate in the BLM in the schools program, so this lesson is totally fine. Are you feeling the heat at your school?

We all know that government websites are all screwed up, but I was still horrified and saddened when I was checking links for my Black History Month lesson and the NASA page was gone. You can see in the search bar what I was looking for. #BlackHistoryMonth

8 years ago I made this sign for the Women’s March in DC. Sadly it is as relevant as ever right now.

My 20-something children and I are doing a book club, starting with the newest @levgrossman.bsky.social book. Son is using the library and daughter will find an independent bookseller out in Iowa. I was thrilled to pick up my (slightly dinged) SIGNED copy at Shakespeare & Co here in NYC.

Finally finished this! Sadly, I accidentally made the body of the Cryptolithus trilobite pointed instead of rounded, which was a bummer when I had a trilobite expert from #AMNH visiting my class. I’m still very happy with how this turned out. #SciArt #crochet #paleontology
