March's illustrated calendar journal. Rough weekend with my son breaking his collarbone mountain biking, so art time has taken a backseat for a little bit.

February began with a freezing winter storm and came to a close with a warming gentle breeze. I tried to focus on my pen work this month and limited the palette to accent colors.

Using circular paper helps my mind unstick from creating "perfect" art. A mister plus a water brush does the job of getting colors down, then just playing. #watercolor #abstract #art

A dark-yellow Canyon gravel bike leans against a chain link barrier on a bridge. Behind the barrier are the tops of evergreen trees and one tall deciduous tree (maple?), bare of leaves. Trailscape with tall, yoong trees leaning in towards the trail. The forest floor is full of brown leaves, and the trees are densely planted and similar diameter and species, suggesting it was replanted some time ago.

February has been making up for January's crisp sun with the cold and wet. It's been nice to catch up on some care tasks and art. As we've been progressing from winter to spring, I find myself wondering what will bloom soon?
