Yes. I often tell travelers (including myself) not to stress too much about finding “the best _____”, especially in a place where food is just baseline high quality (ie France, Japan) . Locals can certainly tell the difference/nuances but we tourists cannot and it’ll all taste great to us.

I visit Paris annually with my now 6 yo. If you’re at D’Orsay I don’t mind Cafe Varenne. It’s touristy and price-y (due to location) but it’s very postcard Paris and the people watching is top notch. Please DM me if you’d like to chat more!

We also tried (and enjoyed) at the Oberkampf location in late 2022 (also on David’s rec). It was right near our apartment. Agree that the cutes-y name is very un-French (boulangerie should have boring - anodyne name).

Our recent strategy when flying US ➡️Europe (instead of connecting via a chaotic hub like FRA or LHR) has been a direct flight to an airport with a good train station (CDG, AMS, ZRH) and then a train. It also makes smaller cities, which are such fun to explore, more accessible.

Yum (where I live fresh peas are a delicacy/have a short season). You’ll use them - they’re so easy to prepare. And, the act of shelling sounds like a perfect relaxing Sunday activity.

Agree. I would not pay that amount for information you could probably DIY find/read. I view things like deep dive neighborhood tours a bit differently - they are more experiential in nature; you might be seeing what it is really like to live in a place. That’s a better value for me.

Don’t forget the Monoprix kids’ clothes which can act as wrap/padding for the glass mustard jars!

Same thought runs through my head every travel day back since circa 2015. My solve is to always have another trip already booked.
