Roots in Stockton CA
Easily sidetracked by projects
Can’t take credit for this. But Jessica was in Stockton this year for Winter StocktonCon. Amazing art covers as I learn more about her work. 😊

Part 4

Large work with armature

The biggest challenge was hollowing it out. I had to take a break to address details later now that I have it slow drying.

Part 3

This one was whimsical and more in my comfort zone with building with coils. Minimum expectation was for 20” tall.

Part 2

Portraits and subsequently made it into a press mold.

Thanks to Izzy and Lee from ClayPeople for the premium door-to-door delivery and assembly. The cart was worth every penny for the upgrade. I think every electric kiln we have should also have a cart.

An exciting week at University of the Pacific

We just added a new kiln to help with the firing overflow with the second section of intro classes.

A big Thanks to ClayPeople and @skuttkilns.bsky.social

Many more to be #madeinaskutt

The intro ceramics classes finished their first pieces. It’s amazing to see what they make when they aren’t burdened by limitations. Only rules: must be hollow and must exceed 8”.

From a series in 2017
Funny how some surfaces come back around.

What kind of handle do you prefer and why?

Guilty pleasure for today. Got some bagels from NYC for a friend 🎂 on GOLDBELLY, got a couple to try too.

Now that I know, 🥯 Stockton bagels aren’t cutting it. Time to try some homemade versions. Any recipes people recommend?

Thanks for the recommendation #pottersofbluesky

One of the many reasons I’m excited to be moving platforms.

Sorry, I don’t remember who’s page I first saw recommend this book. ☕️

I did a custom linocut print edition of this building in 2017 for its reopening. Such a cool building!

Probably the easiest way to entertain ourselves is to run a bunch of glaze tests. Had a few extra dowels laying around to speed up the process.

One set of speakers finished. Inspired by our visit to the Listening Room at SFMoMA by Devon Turnbull and OJAS

Started off the year with this distraction. We built one for home and thought our local community art gallery could use some upgraded speakers for a vinyl record night in February. 📦 🔊

Some results from that 2024 series with @zygoteblum.bsky.social

More large work for me to throw while Joel finds a few new motifs.
