Meanwhile, Trump is deploying members of the Texas National Guard to invade Illinois and Oregon in an unprecedented move of antagonism. The country is rapidly descending into a dictatorship. This is a situation where nobody wins.

Jupiter sits at a square to both the Sun & the Moon. In his exalted position, he is trying to hold everything down – and not succeeding very well. Things are at a standstill, with the Senate gridlocked and civil services in peril while they debate over whether to give us too little or even less.

In Virgo, she can’t see the Sun in Libra or the Moon in Aries, so she is experiencing the same frustration that Mars is. When Venus is frustrated, it’s harder to compromise and harmonize. The planets are us and we are them.

Neither Saturn nor Mercury aspect the lunation either. Only Jupiter does.

Contact can only be made through a third party that aspects both Mars and the Moon. That makes him edgy, and when Mars is edgy, conflict arises.

Meanwhile, the Sun’s ruler, Venus, is trudging through Virgo, where she feels like an unwanted guest.

The Moon’s ruler, Mars, recently returned home to Scorpio, where he can’t see Aries or Libra. As the domicile ruler, Mars is responsible for what happens in Aries; when a planet doesn’t aspect its domicile, he feels futile – like he doesn’t have agency.

In these particular positions, Mercury and Jupiter have a lot of skill and agency to bring something to fruition. They will steward us into eclipse season - if not completely painlessly, then as smoothly as possible.

The lunar eclipse is interesting: the Sun in Virgo is ruled by exalted Mercury conjoined; the Moon in Pisces is ruled by exalted Jupiter from a trine. The trine is Jupiter’s aspect, and the conjunction has a similar nature to Mercury, so there’s something especially satisfying about the arrangement.

There’s a certain amount of fearmongering that happens during eclipse season. Eclipses correlate with intensifications and turning points in history, but it’s important to keep perspective: we experience 4 eclipses every year. You’ve survived dozens of eclipses up until now.
