The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

This from @warren.senate.gov is very smart:
"If Repubs want Senate Dems to provide votes to fund the Trump admin, they can start by restoring the health care that they ripped away to finance more tax handouts for billionaires"

1) Draw a line clearly & early
2) Fight for something wildly popular
Senate Dems are shaping their funding fight strategy: make it all about health care. But the party is split — push toward a shutdown showdown or cut a bipartisan deal?

More from @andrewdesiderio.bsky.social on the fault lines at play:

🧬 Big Tech Wants Your Privacy
The TRASH Administration just launched a “health tech” plan with apps like Apple, Google, and CVS to share your medical history with Big Tech. This isn’t the first time Trump attempted this, but this time he has the Tech bros buying in.

Tonight we learned that it was indeed Andry, the gay man sent to El Salvador because of his “mom” and “dad” tattoos, who an American journalist saw sobbing as guards slapped him repeatedly and shaved his head.

He is an innocent. And Trump sent him to a torture prison.

Bring them back!

As Trump runs our economy into the ground, Republicans are handing money to billionaires hand over fist, while raising prices—raising taxes—on every American.

We could stop Trump’s tariffs today—instead, Republicans are cheering Trump as he drives us toward a painful recession.
