I just saw a great Substack article on this, but of course now I can’t find it. Main idea, google’s goal is for you to not leave google. More ads and data comes their way when you stay on their page.

Good perspective! We are likely missing the “real agenda” going on due to the extreme- all consuming things that are being said. One just didn’t have time to think clearly when they are bombarded by the next outrageous thing that comes our way.

That’s a scary thought!
The logic may be: sure everything will cost more, but more and more people will be working to create all the things they need, therefore the cost will be off set by growth in wages.
