Wrenching and at times suffocating, “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You” is a howl of maternal desperation spiked with jagged humor - Jeannette Catsoulis

[“Marty Supreme”] touches on big, weighty subjects like Jewish identity, family, community, class, assimilation and success, but it isn’t didactic and doesn’t serve up any life lessons, in the pious finger-wagging manner of many American independent movies - Manohla Dargis

“Song Sung Blue” taps into something ineffable... The couple’s earnestness sounds mockable, but it’s not: They are too sincere, too joyful and too grateful to be doing the only thing that either of them ever wanted to do - Jeanette Catsoulis

“Barking Dogs Never Bite” really caught me by surprise. It’s incredibly dark. It’s very funny, and it’s got a really sweet center. It felt appropriate to see ads for payday loans, and gambling apps stuck throughout - I wonder if he would appreciate the meta commentary…

This is a surprising movie. It’s violent, it’s bloody, it’s sadistic, but it is also well acted and directed. It is R rated. Don’t go unless you like strong action pictures, but I must say I did like it - Roger Ebert on “The Terminator”
