FL law requires inmates a court deems insane to be transferred to a mental hospital in 15 days. In 2006, FL's DCF chief resigned after being fined for delaying transfer of 237 inmates.

772 now await overdue transfer, opening FL to potentially massive lawsuits.

New: Former police officer Frank Pichel, who was arrested in 2021 for impersonating a Sheriff's Deputy, was arrested Sunday for allegedly pulling a gun on the campaign worker of a political opponent during a yard sign dispute.

New: Gov. DeSantis appointed 2 new members & re-appointed 5 to the CareerSource Florida Board of Directors, which among other things gives grants to FL bizzes.
Several members have donated to him & other GOP pols. One gave a PAC backing his Prez campaign $400K.

New: Miami-Dade Republican Sen. Bryan Ávila hauled $77.5K in Q3 to defend his SD 39 seat, w/ sizable gains from car dealers.

Ávila sponsored a bill last legislative session banning most direct auto sales in Florida -- w/ a carve out for Tesla & other EV sellers.
