You will eventually pay this combustion externality cost in one way or the other…in property insurance, in tax to governments who try to backstop everyone, in housing costs of rent or renovation, and generalized inflation.

I suppose one of the most profound examples of this was the harnessing of fire by predecessor species, without which Homo pyromancer (us) would have never arisen. Without fire and its derivatives we were/are unfit. Having that tool enabled our development, which defied natural selection.

Governments will go bankrupt when they try to backstop the climate property risk and damage of individuals, businesses, and their own infrastructure. Its a massive and growing unfunded liability for everyone.
