Agree. Been saying this for a while. Reset to period pieces and go through the novels in order. They will resonate because when you read Fleming’s villain plots it’s pretty clear how damn near feasible they were if someone woulda actually had the balls to try and pull them off back then.

You cut east across Mecca just a bit north of the Salton Sea and after about 10 minutes you hit Box Canyon which lets you out at the 10. Just cross over the 10 into back side of JT. Minutes from cholla fields.

Not sure if I’ve mentioned this before but the Cholla fields in the south end of Joshua Tree are epic. But the real treat is BOX CANYON. If you go from Borrego to south entrance of JT you cut through Mecca to one of the best hidden most stunning drives I’ve seen. Box Canyon is a geological stunner.

Oh cool! I absolutely LOVE their Enchanted Forrest holiday season event. I think I’ve done it 4 or 5 times. The reflection of the Japanese garden lake is mesmerizing. The Arboretum version plays techno club music and it feels way out of place for a holiday themed outing…so one and done there.
