When I led of global teams, I wrote to them every week. What I said defined my leadership rather than being incidental to it. Folks could always count on the next one, whether this one was good or bad or irrelevant to them. It wasn’t perfect but it was direct and my responsibility. (6/7)

Disinformation is too easy to create and leaders running their own channel is one step to make improvements. And if you don’t like what they’re saying, vote for someone who can operate AND communicate effectively. (5/7)

Leaders at all levels of government must hold daily or weekly communications directly with their constituents. Yes, every governor and mayor needs to run a podcast or radio show and promote it. We need to hear from them all, directly, often. (4/7)

Today, infrequent and obtuse briefings are consumed by media outlets and citizens after being washed through editorial departments (like Bezos) and then again through social media channels (like Musk + Zuck) and mixed haphazardly with nonsense, which is tragically inexpensive to create. (3/7)

Daily and weekly briefings during crises have been effective and leave ample opportunity for scrutiny, questions, and journalism. Now this pattern has to be the norm. (2/7)
