Nutters. My neighbor got a very similar quote in Princeton. So damn expensive.

The soundtrack has been on non-stop in my 🏡 since the movie was released. We hosted a K-Pop Demon Hunters outdoor movie sing-along for my son's 8th bday a couple weeks ago. 30 kids. Talk about madness.

Once again, it didn't leak. The subsurface CO2 plume migrated out of the intended zone. It stayed safely below the cap rock, thousands of feet below any drinking water or the surface. And those other 10 or 11 storage sites offer meaningful experience as well. As does EOR for that matter.

To be clear: I'm not trying to apologize for ADM or CO2 storage. If this was a real problem, i would be among the first to raise concerns. The CO2 pipeline ruptures that have occured for example are very legitimate concerns. This ADM incident is just not even close.

Also, it's not the only CO2 injection site. There are many worldwide.

I'm pretty sure ADM caught reported it. It didn't "leak" (pretty sure anyone reading that word will associate it with CO2 reentering the atmosphere which it did not). It migrated in the deep subsurface somewhere where they didn't intend. Not ideal, but far from disastrous. Let's be clearer here.
