Very thoughtful and accurate assessment of the landscape here. This is societal catharsis for complex issues. Feels better to think there's both an emotionally satisfying and simple answer to our woes. It's an illusion, this solved nothing.

What fighting? What is the fight? Is the fight just repeating over and over that we should fight? When it's "get out the vote" this makes sense, now, I'm so confused as to what the hell it we're supposed to be doing to fight.

What do you mean "allow"? The general public aren't in power to "allow" or "disallow" what giant insurance companies do. Hell, not even the killer was able to accomplish anything meaningful systemically.

I get this sentiment when the fighting is through getting people to vote / vote democrat.

What fight is remaining?
What actionable goal is to be achieved?
What does "capitulate" even mean in this scenario?
Why can't we focus on praxis?

I wonder with sentiments like this, what exactly does "opposition" or "fighting back" constitute? I'm not sure what meaningful opposition can be mounted by regular citizens like us. If there is, I'm there!
