I am wondering if this applies to all federal employees (ie new directors etc). Twitter has a few thousand employees and is privately owned. The US government is a very different animal, with real responsibilities. Expecting them to operate the same way seems very risky.

In its simplest terms, the apparent demise of #USAID is the result of the world's richest man ending a program that helps millions of poor people. You don't need a Ph.D. in moral theology to see why this is an evil. You can just read Jesus's parables on the rich and the poor.

So much going on. More than usual I think. Not just media hysteria giving that impression. So I am looking at this ceramic egg my wife and I bought on the town square in Kherson, Ukraine in 2004. Only a few Hrivna, but it is one of our better buys. I look at it, I get emotional, and I feel resolve.

Flew back to Russia. Picked up a newspaper. Read this: “The USSR may come back to life this year.” Then this: ““It cannot be ruled out that this year Ukraine will cease to exist.” Bluster? Belligerence? Makes you wonder where things are heading. #ReadingRussia
