I worry about mainstream media being replaced by online tools, even those like BlueSky. Algorithms aren’t designed to force you to see opposing viewpoints and we need people exposed to both sides to stay informed. The fall of MSM is going to accelerate our move to Idiocracy.

@housedemocrats.bsky.social I think that the concession we need to get from GOP to supporting avoiding a shutdown is forcing Congress to vote to end Trumps emergencies. Take the power of Congress back. GOP may just vote to reinstate his policies but then they are on the hook for the vote.

Does the DNC or even some of it's more obvious leaders like @petebuttigieg.bsky.social or @aoc.bsky.social have a good way to submit policy ideas? It's great to raise the risks of Trump's actions, but we need suggestions as well. I have some, but no clear way to share them.

Impeaching Trump, while deserved, is stupid. It’s gives him talking points, a way to distract the public from his challenges, and fires up his base. Instead democrats need to mobilize around real solutions and finding better, younger candidates and leadership.

People talk about “building companies” as if the company was the goal. Shouldn’t the objective be to build great products and services to help people, and a company is a means to that end? The value of a company should be the good it does for its customers and employees, not shareholders.

I believe that @slotkin.senate.gov just gave a brilliant rebuttal to Trump. Clear, concise, a helps set a path forward for democrats. Now we need to build out details to support it.

It’s clear that our president doesn’t care about the people or freedom of Ukraine. Good to see leaders of Europe stepping up. They should work out a peace agreement with Putin and ignore Trump. That’s the only way to hit his Ego hard enough for him to wake up.

I see gerrymandering at the statehouse level as a key issue we need to address. AI should help make this easy to identify and correct. Has anyone heard of people digging into this? @mcuban.bsky.social any insight?

I think Marks point gets better over time. The longer Trump stays stuck in his “concept of a plan” the more appealing very clear way Mark lays it out below comes across. The key is being able to sell those top 2-3 points form the plan. Enough detail to make it clear the details exist.
You can sell with the truth. It’s still about presentation.

Point taken. But isn't that bc Trump's a scammer? It's a lot easier to sell a fantasy, especially if you wrap it in promises of riches and self-righteous vengeance. As well as promise fake solutions to problems that don't exist or that he created. Not sure if being more like Trump is the answer?!

Trumps Gaza plan is just international gentrification. Push poor people out, rebuild the area, move rich people in. He’s focused on the Mediterranean coastline and the money. The office of the presidency shouldn’t be to blatantly further is real estate business.

DOGE is supposed to be about efficiency. I’d love to see them focus on making it efficient for us. Focus on the things that remove friction from the lives of the public, and make our interactions with the govt simpler and easier.

Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

If DOGE goal is to stop certain payments from going out, they could have done that without any direct access to any system. So what are they really doing with this access? Some indication they are using them to mine for personnel info to target for firings.
