Flash forward to now and here I am, sitting in my kotatsu in less rural Gunma and enjoying a Baileys Coffee on this cold, rainy Halloween. I had a tinge of regret that I wasn’t headed to a party for this rare Friday Halloween, but I am happy to be warm🎃

And there I was, in the middle of rural Gunma and just depressed as hell. I went out for a drive that night, listened to loud music, and did not come back until the wee hours of the morning.

I come from a very Halloween-positive household and neighborhood. My parents threw epic Halloween parties. Our neighborhood had such good trick or treating that people bussed in for it. And then I went to UCSB for uni and experienced some wild Isla Visa Halloweens.
