Then again it's prolly not the RPGs you were thinking of- I'm just trying to think of the games that give a lil more freedom that I happened to enjoy for some time.

The closest thing I can think of that doesn't have much handholding would be a majority of the souls games... Then there's KCD, and KCD2, however these games seem to boil down to meta ways of playing which kinda makes other methods obsolete.. unless you're REALLY good with it.
