You're a lot more likely to think you're "lucky" if you're happy where you are and can see the light in the little things. If you're not happy you might attribute your sadness to bad luck.

I wonder how much of her own perception of her "luck" ties in to her change in perspective, because a lot of what people see as luck can be tied back to your mindset and how you perceive things.
