If you told me five years ago this would be me on Tuesday night, I don't know. I likely would have grimaced and changed the subject. Seems you really can change up your life.

Saturday. Post protest. To fellow readers Laura Bayless and Jennifer Lagier and the rest of Monterey Bay Poetry Consortium, thank you. Have long wondered what it would feel like to read with you in your beautiful space. Was heartening, can't thank you enough.

😍 San Diego poetry community. Heard from three SD poets laureate on critical need to support libraries plus major insights from the rest at the Steve Kowit Poetry Prize event last night. Each poet, so different. Each poem. Felt in fighting form against AI there. TY to all. Wow.

Gratitude Diary: POEMS took first place for poetry from the Great Northwest Book Festival (and still can be ordered from Main Street Rag, I should probably add).
As you were.

Available at my local shops--Bookshop Santa Cruz and Two Birds Books in Pleasure Point--and online from the publisher mainstreetragbookstore.com/product/grat... Trying to get this first collection out there without using Amazon. My small press publisher is no oligarch. We'll see how it goes.

Inter / Act is a great group / venue.
Glad for the chance to help keep the poetry going into 2025.

I'm buying. (Thanks to the SDPA, the guild, and all involved. Submitting can be so thankless. Then comes a day.)

Still looking for interaction here, more like what I know at FB and knew at Twitter. Looking for poets. Not sure who will see this, but hey, ended up in Seattle for the New Year. Got great fireworks photos. But this says more of what I wish for you, Dear Reader. Let 2025 lift boats. Let's.

Got word a poem about my folks (such an original subject, right?) is out there as a finalist for the Steve Kowit Award. Could not be happier. TY, San Diego Entertainment & Arts Guild. TY, readers who heard what needed to be said. Poetry is so random. I love it.

If I may. A local library rep informed me today that my first poetry collection is being placed in circulation. I feel the need to mark this moment. I know they no longer have those little pockets in the back where there's a card that everyone signs. But still. A moment.

Glad, so glad, for a chance to read in Ann Arbor on October 29. Thanks to Darcy Rhoden, owner of Booksweet, who brought the cookies and the warmest welcome, and to Ellen Stone, an extraordinary Michigan poet who arranged the whole thing. Her new book comes out soon.
