Update on the Dryden Creek Fire in #Squamish, BC.

1. An Evacuation ALERT remains in place for properties at the east end of Depot Road, east of Highway 99 including Depot Road campground, properties at the end of Tantalus Road, along Tantalus Road north of Dowad Drive, & Skyridge subdivision.

Expanded evacuation ALERT area, as of 12:40pm. No residents are required to evacuate at this time, but those living in the Alert Area should be prepared to leave quickly, if necessary.

Thoughts are with Squamish Skyridge residents tonight as @bcwildfireservice.bsky.social crews battle a fire within 1-2km of their homes - thankfully structures are currently upwind, fingers crossed for a light overnight outflow wind.

On Friday I had the opportunity to tour SOLID Outreach, AVI Health and Community Services SAFER, and Substance Drug Checking with Health Minister Josie Osborne. These groups have shown what it means to respond compassionately and support their communities in times of crises.

Highway 99 re-opened at 5am. Thanks to the crews, and the community spirit to keep everyone safe. #seatosky #pullingtogether
