Travel post Day 7. Annapolis, MD. Capital of Maryland is a lovely town. Lots of nice places to eat and shop. Although I’m an Army guy, the United States Naval Academy is an absolute must visit. The tour is exceptional.

Travel Post Day 6. Charleston, SC. The other “quintessential” Southern city IMO is Charleston. It has a much more cosmopolitan field than Savannah, but both cities have great food in common. Charleston is steeped in history. Rodney Scott’s barbecue is an absolute must. James Beard award winner.

Travel post Day 5. Savannah, GA. Two quintessential Southern towns are Savannah and Charleston, but they are very different. Savannah has a much more laid-back feel. Great food. #savannah

Travel Post Day 4. New Orleans. This is a must-visit city. Great food and if you’re not going during Mardi Gras, JazzFest or during a sporting event (they’re hosting the Super Bowl this year), room rates are reasonable. Take a red bus tour - can get off at any of the spots all day.

Heritage BBQ across the street. Really good. Hidden House Coffee in town is a nice little place.

Travel post day 3. San Juan Capistrano, CA. Was out there for my firm’s annual partner retreat and had a morning to spend. Went to see the Spanish mission there. It’s the jewel of the 21 missions established in California. Beautiful place. #travel #OrangeCounty

Travel post Day 2. Lake Placid, NY. Site of the 32 and 80 Winter Olympics. Miracle on Ice rink is still in use. Gorgeous little town. Solid food. Beautiful scenery. Four hour drive from NYC.
