I couldn’t agree more, and yes he did! 😍I’m still on a (natural and legal) high. Let’s hope we all get to see him again. btw nice to hear Roy get a mention on national radio at the weekend! 🙏

Great show so far! Was that you thanking Roy for Stonehenge?

You might be in my pics then! I've never been back to Cambridge, but had been considering going back next year. I'll DM you if I can find the photos.

In my defence it was mainly said to amuse my gig buddy, and those in the immediate vicinity but my voice obviously carried a bit further than I’d expected! I’ll see if I can dig out the rest of the photos…

Yep, I remember it like it was yesterday. It was at the afternoon gig at the 2nd stage rather than the main stage set that was partly televised. Amazed that it’s been someone else’s DT anecdote all these years.

And here's a blurry photo from Cambridge in 1982. The first of many times I saw these amazing musicians. So glad I got to speak all 5 of them after the Royal Festival Hall gig in 2008 and tell them all how much their music meant to me.

I'm not proud of this, and you might not believe me, but I was that heckler! I've never heckled before or since, and it was indeed a very fair call from the great man. I met him a few times over the years, but thought it best not to confess! RIP Danny, and thank you for everything.

Oh no, I’m very sorry to hear this. Such a unique player who graced so many of my favourite recordings. I'm sad that I'll never see him play again. RIP Danny.

It’s an impressive wall isn’t it? 50% albums I own, and 50% albums I wished I owned, and that includes the Vashti Bunyan.

I can confirm that Sparks were absolutely astonishing again this evening. (As was PH that night in ‘83 and every other time I’ve seen him 😊)

I expect you’re right! 😊

A great night, and a pretty much perfect set list. I was sat upstairs, but I’m sure I’d have enjoyed it even more where you were.

Same! Oddly unsatisfying though.

I saw it again just last week as part of my rewatch of the entire series. I couldn’t agree more. Astonishingly good drama.
