Denmark was never ever able to protect Greenland, even in the 1800's or 1900's, let alone now. America was always Greenland's security Guarantor.

America put Denmark and the world on notice in 1830 that Greenland was in its National space and might take it. America has been protecting Greenland since the 1890s. Denmark has never secured Greenland, never really funded it. The USA will not permit Neo European Colonialism to affect its mission.
