If you can mark an X, you're my kind of people!
I don't know who you are, and frankly I don't care. But someone I follow re-skeeted you and I'm happy I saw this.

Thank you for you service.

"Why don't you know more about my country's media?"

Well.. that tracks for a decrepit former colonial empire.

I don't disagree with the first sentence. But you really disproved your own point with the second.

If you're trying to say chiropractors are medical doctors, maybe don't equate them with philosophers?

Fuck this comment is beautiful. Thank you for your service.

Could not agree more. It's insane. They treat criticism of Carney as treasonous and don't realize that they sound like the Trump cultists.

Even if I supported Carney, which I really, really don't, I would still be critical. Hell, I'm a registered New Democrat and I'm extremely critical of them.

It would mean we would never end up with a majority government unless a majority of Canadians actually voted for it.

That's infinitely better than FPTP on that point alone.

My goodness, Jesse has done a masterclass on tanking your own company and credibility.

He's like new Gavin McInnes. And nobody wanted a new Gavin McInnes.

Fuckin kids can't even read a goddamn book anymore.

And do you know what will happen when we increase wages but don't increase our housing supply?
December 3, 2025 at 7:15 AM
Average home price is over 650k, you would need an income of around 150k.

Do you know what would happen to the prices of groceries if every cashier and shelf stocker was making 150k per year?
December 3, 2025 at 7:11 AM
Because we financialized housing in Canada. Leading to sky rocketing prices and an entirely disconnected market.

How much do those 500 sq ft condos in Toronto cost? More than a suburban 4 bedroom sfh did 20 years ago.

The market is disconnected from reality. Just like you. Good night.
December 3, 2025 at 7:09 AM
Nowhere did I say people shouldn't be paid more.

We're paying a high proportion of our salary in rent. That's a problem that affects what you buy at the grocery.
December 3, 2025 at 7:07 AM
I.. just can't. If you look at that chart and don't see an issue with housing costs in Canada.. then this conversation will go nowhere.

Good night.

This is a wage issue?
December 3, 2025 at 6:55 AM
Jesus Christ.

If we had continued building social housing over the last 30 years since we stopped we would be much, much better off than we are now.

If we had more supply, things would be less expensive. The best time to start was 30 years ago. The second best time is now.

"In 2021, nearly 1.7 million Canadian households lived in “core housing need,” meaning they resided in an unsuitable, inadequate or unaffordable dwelling and could not afford alternatives within their community – a 10-percent increase from 2018."

That 1.7 mill trounces your suggested 1.5 spots.

What's your source on 1.5 million? Because from what I see in the link below, it says 842k live in subsidized housing, with 246k on a wait list. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say we don't have enough units.
December 3, 2025 at 6:42 AM
We've done it in the past. We can, and must, do it again.

And Carney literally campaigned on this exactly issue..just like Trudeau did in 2015, 2019 and 2021.

If you don't think the feds can do anything than tell that to them. Because they keep promising they can and will build more homes.
December 3, 2025 at 6:31 AM
We did it post war with a lot less technology, we can do it again. It's literally the only way to bring affordability back to the market. Housing prices need to drop. They're massively overinflated and increasingly out of reach of reach for the vast majority of young people.
December 3, 2025 at 6:29 AM
The housing crisis has absolutely everything to do with social housing.

Look at a graph at home prices in Canada. The feds stopped building social housing in the mid 90s.

Google a graph showing 1975-2025 and see where prices start an exponential curve.
December 3, 2025 at 6:26 AM
You're right that the property develops don't have any interest in building "affordable" homes. Which is why it's the govt's responsibility.

And if we flood the market with social and affordable housing it'll have the added benefit of making the private market more affordable.
December 3, 2025 at 3:49 AM
Wages quadrupling in 20 years? In what world that would have ever been a possibility?

The housing crisis is a direct result of the federal government ceasing to build social housing.

It led to the financialization of housing and planned scarcity because of nimbys and "investors".
December 3, 2025 at 3:48 AM
We have an issue with wages, but housing doubling in 10 years, after almost double in the 10 years prior, is more than a wage issue.
