Am I the only one to think that it's incredibly brave of @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social to show notorious racist Bernard Manning's WHEELTAPPERS AND SHUNTERS SOCIAL CLUB?

I remember it as a kid. Once removed from the Black and White Minstrel Show.

But then much of the TPTV audience is of that era.

Victoria, I wish that your BBC bosses read the comments here, about how much more you are respected as a serious interviewer than Laura.

I am not convinced that she is as bad as people make out, but it is hard to find anyone here who is critical of you. As Maisie Adam said, "you keep the receipts"

Re: "Looney Koons"

That's brilliant, Helen.

However, I've never thought that Kuenssy was a loon, more a determined political antagonist.

No, definitely one from the 1970s that I watched, probably around the time of the Three Doctors, as I barely knew who he was before then.

I have several of the IBA yearbooks from that era. Not looked at them for decades but the image rings a bell.

I remember the very last episode of Z Cars being repeated as part of #TV50 in November 1986, and many viewers criticising the choice of episode, incl. in the #RadioTimes letters pages.

The BBC then repeated a different episode, if I remember correctly.

I have a vague memory of Z Cars as a kid of Patrick Troughton being in a cell and smashing up the toilet.

Is it true or am I misremembering?

That's actually minimally helpful.

Most of the time the subtitler can't be bothered to work out the language and just types "speaks own language."
