Until a security analysis is done on and gov’t apps I’d be very wary of installing.

Curious, as a customer, who might be switching now… from Wikipedia it shows just that the owner is an Israeli. Shows he’s based/works out of London. I don’t wanna just drop them because the owner is from that country. Do funds go to Israel? Is the owner a backdoor operator for the govt?

Answering part of my question here but it seems that his fundraising is under “NEVER SURRENDER, INC.” And not his name. This is misleading when you look at the bar graph and data table on the homepage.

Hi. You obviously have bigger fish to fry today, but how come Trump’s campaign dollars are not listed on the FEC’s website? I see Biden and Kamala’s campaign contributions but not trump’s.

Agreed. Having a rule or an internationalization accommodation to essentially “translate” that would suffice. This way they can accept the source of truth data while not bending to nonsense.

However, most people call their maps app simply GPS, this also should be obvious. Those services will slowly start to update their data to reflect govt data. This is how it’s always been. It will be the same for local govt GIS db soon as ESRI and other providers update their data. Same again for fed

I’m dumbing this down for folks. The literal GPS system does not use naming sys of any kind, this is ridiculous to think so. A GPS chip listens to signals from satellites, measures how long they took to arrive, and calculates its position based on the distance to each satellite numbers all the way..

True but GNIS is a geo DB via USGS. Right or wrong… I say wrong… Trump signed an EO ordering USGS to update GNIS to rename the body of water. Whether or not it’s right/wrong or if that the US can do it is moot to my point, which is applications and services that feed from GNIS will use that name.

Not MAGA here but they do have to say that name for the Gulf of Mexico because that’s its legal name now per the GNIS so for logistics and safety everyone from pilots to your GPS nav system will be updated to that. It’s sad.

Also note; as I say this I see issues and flaws but on the whole I don’t see the deal, they didn’t advertise an open source product, they advertise something that is a workhorse and just works plain and simple.

I fully get the point. however, I buy Bambu’s products because they just work. I think most buy them because of the apps, the cloud management, and ecosystem. It’s well supported and maintained. Yes, you’re locked in. But frankly I’ve never been too thrilled with other slicers in terms of quality.
