For everyone giving me grief for being bothered by the misuse of “decimated” I beg the unseen powers to assist your developing empathy by putting people in your range of hearing who repeatedly say “supposably.” And may your heads metaphorically explode in beauty like Frida Kahlo’s & my Kleenex box.

It has been bothering me to hear people say those AHs temporarily in power are “decimating” things. This language is not nearly strong enough. It literally means to reduce by 10% though if people use it incorrectly for long enough, that becomes accepted usage. The word we need to use is ANNIHILATE.

Earlier today, I responded to a post asking for the most life-changing event after 30. I responded and answered a few questions about a traumatic event that ultimately led to extremely positive changes for which I’m profoundly grateful.
