Always looking to have a great conversation. Teach me something new?
Had to cheat a bit: dotnet build insists on an XML file, so dotnet build MyApp.slncs needs .slncs to be a minimal XML stub (or worse, everything wrapped in CDATA).

I hacked around it with a dotnet tool instead — slncs-build.

If you flash mainline VIAL, no, but there is a fork out there with the appropriate fixes and it maintains wireless/bt: github.com/daskygit/qmk...

Middleware is so incredibly handy! Once I got comfortable with the paradigm, I found myself leaning on libraries like Mediatr from @jimmybogard.com to make it possible to implement them everywhere.

Compartmentalize those cross-cutting concerns!

The RP2040 works fine, as does some of the others like the ATmega32 based Elite-C or Pro Micro. I'm largely looking for the best value USB-C controller board that's suitable for the purpose. I'll be running I typical matrix setup with diodes. I'm prototyping designs before having a PCB made.

Got a particular style and feel in mind for 2025?

I'd recommend it! Absolutely lovely set.

Do real appliance repair services still exist, or are you just out of luck once the OEM stops supplying parts? Aftermarket parts seem plentiful and reliable, yet the repair industry feels dead. Why?

I also found a replacement front door seal on amazon for between $30-160 depending on if I want an OEM part or a third party version.

I'm sure the relay contacts are wearing and will need to be replaced in short order, but it's certainly a far cry from replacing the units entirely.

The tech diagnosed a bad control board and a faulty washer seal but couldn't get the parts. Suspecting a stuck relay, I asked if he’d smack it or let me—he declined.

After paying him his service fee, I pulled the top off the dryer, smacked the relay with a screwdriver, and the issue was fixed.
