The tradition of a candle in the window is an Irish tradition dating back to the 17th century. The reasons have changed, but we show it as a sign welcoming others passing by. In colonial times, travelers who saw a candle in the window would know they could find refuge there on their journey.

We have some basic freedoms that are so fundamental to us that it is hard to imagine not having them. But we are seeing cruel and heartless acts on folks for the ‘crime’ of not having proper paperwork. We see efforts to strip that paperwork from others who hold it legally!

With ICE invading our cities here in CA to kidnap peaceful and hard working folks, this shows how bad it is when what is legally allowed is so far from what is morally correct.
