It has only happened to me once. In Shinjuku, near the Inokashira-sen exit. I was staring at my phone and in the way, and whoever bumped me obviously wanted to send a message.

After reading the article, I realize that's only one type of bumping...

Paywall protected so can’t read, but wouldn’t this be counterproductive? Other nations rely on a strong dollar and strong US economy to absorb imports. The weakening dollar and economic volatility would affect everyone… a cure that’s worse than the sickness, so to speak.
