a few more pics of the hail which in some spots covered the ground. The shot with the storm drain is after quite a bit of melting (30 minutes after the storm or so).

The hail as it fell south of Benson, NC on 4/11. It was enough to cover the ground in places. #ncwx

Yesterday's chase (4/11) started with a supercell near Spivey's Corner, NC and ended up just south of Benson where a line of storms with embedded rotation hit with a lot of pea sized hail. #ncwx

This is why it is important to know who is organizing a protest and who they are affiliated with. This is not a condemnation of anyone who attends but a warning:

Will edit the actual shots later but this was south of Pittsboro earlier this evening. Definite supercell structure.

Our pollen count set a record yesterday and today is probably no different. This is a look at the pine pollen fog from 3/30/25 in the Raleigh area. The camera tries to adjust the color to white automatically so there is some color grading in post to adjust for that. #ncwx

I went back an re-edited my possible tornado images from 3/5 in North Raleigh. I backed off on the processing to reduce noise (only so much you can do with rain contamination). If confirmed it is my first ever aerial shot of a tornado (something I have been trying for years to get). #ncwx

Waiting to see if this ends up being confirmed by NWS. #ncwx

These were taken near the intersection of Leesville Rd. and Lynn Rd. in north Raleigh as a tornado warned supercell embedded within a line came through. If a tornado was present it would have been wrapped in the rain shaft you see in the second shot. Shot 3 shows my position at the time. #ncwx
