I’m not opposed to genuine contrition & demonstrated commitment to doing better being the price of admission for being welcomed in from the cold. “Show me your straight D ticket ballot selfie” is not an unreasonable ask under the circumstances.

I respect both reactions to this—part of me says allies borne of shame should be welcomed to make it easier for the next potential defector to break ranks. But I also viscerally understand if the people who’ve been right all along about what the GOP is, was, & always will be aren’t ready to forgive.
