Whew! Glad I didn't take my "safe" option of Brandon Crawford mid left, who I forgot wasn't a 1st rounder!
Also forgot Rile was an ERA champ. Laymon Yokely, the other I considered there, a better pick.

1st to use Pippen, who per B-R Bullpen page Ted Williams wrote he struck out against in his first pro PA (with the Padres!). The page also claims Williams later got his first 2 hits at Fenway off Pippen, though, and it was actually his 5th and 6th hits. So not sure how accurate the minors claim is.

A collection of guys I've long meant to use, plus a couple favorites in Crespo and Orengo.
1st to use all my middle row, but surprisingly not 1st to Wood. I'd been waiting for combo of "Only One Team" and "Played 2B", I believe only combo he'd fit prior to this.

First to use Walker (I think first time I've done that with anyone on a non-baseball grid), and within first five or so on next three lowest. Harding played for half the league and racked up a bunch of assists; she's very helpful.

Someday I'll use Dick Nen. For now, Robb Nen and Dickie Thon on the same grid will do.

1st to use Melton, but my win streak is snapped as the DH category returns. That's not what did me in, though: I misremembered Chicken Hawks as having played all OF positions. Alas, not RF!

1st time I've used Baker, though! Forgot him last time combo came up. Didn't make that mistake again.

My hot streak continues. That's 13 immaculates in a row and 23 of 24. 21 of those 23 are single digit scores, including 8 in a row now. Only a matter of time before another risky guess doesn't pay off...
Also used Tomko and Moore for 1st time, adding to my players used. Love that new stats feature!

I played it safe with Simmons over Jim Delahanty. Was 1st to use "Silent Mike" Tiernan, so nicknamed due to his not arguing with umpires, which was certainly not the style at the time.
