15 September marks 50 years since Chris Balderstone scored 51 no for Leicestershire v Derbyshire, played for Doncaster v Brentford in the evening, and then completed his 100 next day and took 3 wickets as Leics won the championship. A proper shift @acscricket.bsky.social @anniechave.bsky.social

Just finished reading the excellent biography of David Walker, Andy Dawson deserves great credit for shining a spotlight on a Norfolk CCC player many will be unfamiliar with. 49 Minor Counties Championship matches, 3,997 runs at 63.44, 13 x 100’s & 19 x 50’s. Some player.

One of the latest by #acscricket is ‘Brick by Brick’ by #maxbonnell which explores the 1964 Australian tour of UK. The visitors won a dull series 1-0 & also in 1964, 13 years of Tory government ended. Bonnell’s study of the tour is fascinating. Go to shop.acscricket.com
