Assuming it's the same enemy (the three gun shield guy before you get to the village of Fragglerock) then yeah. Use whatever skill you have to Break him, then shoot his shoulder a few times and he drops the shield entirely. The fight becomes WAY easier that way.

I haven't seen Legend, but I was impressed I could tell which one was which without much effort. The tech they used for those shots must be amazing.
