Folks, it is not unpatriotic, even less some sort of crime, to ask for transparency and accountability from your own government. We are not their subjects. They are our employees. Do not allow yourselves to be intimidated into silence.

I don't particularly care--nor should the Democrats--whether or not protecting trans people is popular in the heartland. Even if it alienates the "moderates," it's the right thing to do, and the Democrats should make every effort to do it. Sometimes what the people need is to be led and not lead.
