It took me two weeks to read through the thousands of prompts and responses and it was fascinating to see how reliant students have become on ChatGPT to answer all sorts of questions but less surprising once I understood how insidiously responses are engineered for engagement.

Five years ago today I was shopping for a present to take along to a 50th birthday lunch. But on the day itself, everyone got cold feet about travelling into London and lunch was cancelled. It was nearly two years before we all got together again.
