Such a pluralist endeavor, which complements classic work on emotions in International Relations by shedding light on often overlooked actors and processes, considers that the entire chain of processes involved in terrorism is one of emotional engagement, polarization, and contagion.

The chapter embraces a multidisciplinary approach, weaving together several theories and conceptualizations of emotions; connects them with key explanations such as (inter)group identity, radicalization pathways, ideology, and propaganda; and offers illustrations from multiple empirical cases.

Ce narratif permet à Israël de justifier ses actions militaires régionales, notamment à Gaza, au Liban et en Syrie, mais aussi de mobiliser le soutien international (notamment américain) et de détourner l’attention de la question palestinienne.
