I saw someone say that Jimmy Carter is the only President who realized that Being the President is inherently evil because of the systems it supports and he spent the rest of his life trying to make up for that... I like that thought.
President Carter lies in state at the Capitol. No matter our politics, Pres. Carter was committed to country, community, & to improving humankind.

Jimmy Carter lies in state as Washington begins its commemoration
The public will be able to pay their respects to the 39th president at the U.S. Capitol until his state funeral Thursday morning.
