If he introduces PR then yes, he will save Labour, and British democracy as a whole.
People are supporting Burnham because of his policies.

Didn’t Mark Carney win without being an MP? He only stood as an MP after he was leader. Are the rules different in Canada?

Next election will be a rerun of 2019. I said Rayner before but it’s gunna be Burnham now Rayner is out. Similar platforms, will likely push toward the EU. Starmer is gunna be ousted in May after the locals.

Build social housing like the French, “make Britain beautiful again” to start.
No one is listening to Labour at the moment, you have to change the conversation.
Much of the Right latch onto a traditional aesthetic to communicate their ideas. It’s vibes not policy.
Choke that avenue of weakness off.

Essentially makes Jones Prime Minister Jr.
September 5, 2025 at 7:41 PM
The chief secretary to the prime minister is an interesting one.
I wonder if it’s meant to free up Starmer, to focus on foreign policy, while seeing if Darren Jones can get a better handle on the domestic stuff.
September 5, 2025 at 7:38 PM
Darren Jones, David Lammy and Shabana Mahmood are three of Labours best operators, so putting them front and centre makes a lot of sense.
Looks like Number 10 has finally accepted that Starmer needs some help. All three also very good communicators.

Do Medias U.K. now

Cobbles please. Not that weird green tarmac.

It was a mistranslation. What they meant was “The defence of Ukraine would subside in two to three months.” They probably left out the part explaining why.
August 7, 2025 at 12:47 PM
31% of Labour votes lost to left-wing parties v 10% to right-wing parties.
More than x3 as many.
If they added all their lost left-wing votes back to their polling they’d be on 30%+ nationally, above reform.
Strange strategy from Starmer/McSweeney.
I don’t really understand what they’re going for.
August 7, 2025 at 11:53 AM
Well it secured continued Ukraine support in the shape of irreplaceable US weapons being purchased and continued intel sharing.
Think backing Ukraine is more important than taking a hit on tariffs. What happens in Ukraine will define Europe for the next century.

Are there any movements, in Central Europe, to implement a constitutional monarchy?
I know France and Romania have non-insignificant movements, and Hungary loves a bit of monarchy larping, but I’ve never seen a call to restore the Hapsburgs. The heir is a politician in Austria right?
August 1, 2025 at 11:55 AM
Don’t pick unnecessary fights that wastes time and distracts from the main point. Essentially what we are perusing is a “Scandinavian economic model”. A clear defined, non-threatening, goal. One backed up by evidence that we can point to and say. We just going to do that thing that provably works.
July 30, 2025 at 5:33 PM
Would also suggest ensuring the new party promises not to go after the monarchy and accepts that a lot of people have a deep rooted emotional attachment to them. The official position needs to be that a constitutional monarchy is the most stable form of government.

…for years and ultimately what you don’t do is use branding that alienates a large chunk of your intended market. It needs to be a “One Nation” party. Branded as pragmatic and guided by Christian principles. Ultimately the goals will be the same but the branding will be more accessible.
July 30, 2025 at 5:33 PM
Ultimately the term means different things to different people and it will just waste time as people argue about what the meaning of socialism is.
Clear, concise message discipline is needed. We need a broad coalition and you won’t to get that with socialist branding.
I worked in PR
July 30, 2025 at 5:33 PM
The new party needs to drop its “socialist” branding. Saw Sultana wants the party to be called “the left”. Think this is a mistake. What they call socialist values are basically Christian values. There’s a lot more Christians in the U.K. than socialists. A socialist party will always have a ceiling
July 30, 2025 at 5:33 PM
Ultimately the elite money and the Tory’s are bound together. They will fall in line behind Jenrick because they will believe that the Tories will always be the party of power. If you move against the Tories then you loose future access when they rebound. It’s why the donors haven’t moved over.
July 25, 2025 at 7:26 PM
I get that, but Jenrick is very social media literate. I like the comparison of him as the Right-wing Mamdani.
Think Farage has a lot of baggage regarding his own flip flopping over immigration issues. He also won’t be able to count on the right-wing press come election time. They will flip on him.
July 25, 2025 at 7:26 PM
Yeah but he did resign and go scorched earth against the Tory leadership. Think he’s also gone full Mein Kampf on Twitter and these people just want people to agree with their narrative. Remember JD Vance called Trump “Hitler” in 2016. Now he’s a MAGA darling.

Historically the two main parties consolidate around election time.
Lest we not forget the polls 6 months before the 2019 general election. Brexit Party was well in front.
July 25, 2025 at 6:38 PM
Not talked about enough is Reforms funding (or lack there of) which will be hit hard by the new political donation reforms. Tory’s are still the most well funded party, and despite their low poll numbers, the exodus of donors has not materialised.
July 25, 2025 at 6:38 PM
Think Reform peaked too soon and Jenrick is well liked amongst their supporters. Equally I think would be Corbyn voters very much like Rayner (provided she sticks to her historic positions) and will be terrified at the idea of a hard-right government taking power. 4 years is a long time in politics
