Right, but this says nothing of when the expression became Norwegian. Ludvig Holberg is listed as an author who used the expression, but that might as well be because his Danish relations used the “wrong” defintion. We can’t know for sure, I just find the transformation curious.

I made this comment on another thread, but it’s the same in Danish: “Ugler i mosen”. It has also transformed from wolves.

But the saying is the same in Danish. It has also evolved to “Ugler i mosen” so whether the saying has spread to the other Scandinavian countries before or after its tranformation I do not know. I’d say it’s unlikely that the exact same transformation would occur in three languages.

The only reason I’m keeping Twitter around is because a lot of physios and other HCP haven’t made the move to Bluesky. I’ll gladly get rid of that app once a larger community has formed.
