i've seen this photo on fanfic moodboards more than I've seen my own family
black and white photo that only shows the side profiles of two individuals, all of their features excluded from the photo other than their noses, mouths, and chins. One mouth is more agape as the two figures move in for what appears to be a kiss, but the distance has not yet closed.

“She’s right, you know,” the alpha muttered through a puff of smoke; the tobacco washed over him quickly, drowning out the chaos lingering from the appointment. A sour snicker escaped from his grandmother’s wrinkled lips, the woman flicking her ashes out to be swallowed by the cold, wet air. “No. She’s a Nape wolf. They’re never right.” Here she goes again. Jeongguk usually would ignore her incessant ramblings about the other packs, especially when it came to those from the midland region of Nape, a near cultural opposite to Melanchaetes. He was convinced that she labeled any wolf she didn’t like as one of their descendants, always needing a strawman to burn, a goat to scape. Despite this, he indulged her, feeling as if she needed to decompress. “How do you know that she’s Nape bred?” “She’s an omega, a regular around here that brings her husband with her some days,” “So?” “So, the husband doesn’t have a mating mark. She does. Their alphas don’t allow their omegas to claim them – it’s barbaric.” Barbaric. Of course. Although Jeongguk agreed, he couldn’t help but roll his eyes. After decades of cohabitation and estrangement from the pack hearths, the younger generations appeared to be seemingly more disconnected, most them not caring about the nature of wolf politics as they found it to be obsolete in the Amayrad. Although Orios held several languages, many of which were unique to certain packs, many children were no longer taught the tongues of their regions, choosing instead to speak the ruling Palo, or in these parts, passable Amataik. Jeongguk knew three languages and their writing systems fluently, yet his younger siblings only managed two on a good day.
